The Pride and Prejudice Movie

We rented Pride and Prejudice and watched it last night. We read the book together and finished it just a while ago. It was really fun to watch the movie after we read the book together. I thought that the movie was great! My husband even liked it, and he's not much of a Kiera Knightley fan. They did a good job keeping the integrity of the book intact, considering how much the story needed to be condensed, and the changes they did make didn't bother me at all. This is definitely a movie I want to buy. :)

Have any of you read Love Comes Softly by Janette Oke? That is one of my favorite books and I love the whole series. They have made a series of movies based on the books and I can't stand them! They are okay movies, but they changed the plot WAY too much. They shouldn't use the characters and the names of the books if they aren't going to follow the story. I can understand changes that need to be made so that the book will fit into a time slot and be more theatrical, but they go too far in these movies. They kill off characters that never died in the books, they bring in new love interests, they basically don't follow the book at all except to use some of the characters names. So my point is that I am glad they didn't destroy Pride and Prejudice the way they did with Love Comes Softly. I can only take so much disappointment. lol. ;P For all you Twilight fans out there, I'm sure we're all hoping they do that book justice too...
