“Timing is everything, in education as in many other fields. It’s not enough to teach well. You have to teach well to kids who are ready to learn, kids who are developmentally ‘ripe’ for learning.”

No one can take your spot!

Last night we had a stake Relief Society and Young Women fireside. The speaker gave an interesting analogy that really hit home to me. She talked about how when you are on a sports team you work together, you cheer for each other, and you support each other. But in the back of your mind you always have this fear that if you aren't good enough, the coach might give your position on the team to somebody else. She compared this to our lives here on earth. We are all part of the same team, but we all have different positions. We all have different missions, talents, and purposes for our lives. But the good thing is: no one can take your spot on the team! We are all daughters of God with unique talents and abilities, we each have a mission and a purpose in life that can not be fulfilled by anyone else. We don't need to be jealous or angry with others, because no one is vying for our spot on the team - they're too worried about their own mission and responsibilities!
