“Timing is everything, in education as in many other fields. It’s not enough to teach well. You have to teach well to kids who are ready to learn, kids who are developmentally ‘ripe’ for learning.”

BTT: Book Condition

Are you a spine breaker? Or a dog-earer? Do you expect to keep your books in pristine condition even after you have read them? Does watching other readers bend the cover all the way round make you flinch or squeal in pain?

I usually keep my books in pretty good condition. I do highlight them sometimes, but I can't stand to bend down the corners. I have been told that the margins are there for a reason - so that we can write our thoughts in the book. I can't bring myself to do that either.
